Well, just about everyone! Families, friends, couples, date nights, group get-togethers, company outings, parties, old or young, you name it! We have set things up so that no matter who you are, you’ll have a great time. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or an expert. The only thing we ask is that you are physically fit for the activity, you will be getting in and out of the kayak in knee to waist-deep water, paddling, and swimming so the ability to do these things is a pre-requisite for this tour.
-
Your health and safety are important to us.
The following guests cannot participate: state of pregnancy, guests with recent surgeries, guests with debilitating neck, back, arm or leg problems, guests who have epilepsy, heart conditions, head injuries and/or chronic dizziness, and any other severe conditions that may affect your ability to participate safely in the tour.
If you are not physically fit enough to climb in and out of the kayak in knee to waist deep water.
If you are not physically fit enough to paddle the kayak.
If you are not physically fit enough to snorkel.
***TIP: If you are prone to motion-sickness, we recommend you take your own Non-Drowsy Motion-sickness medicine prior to the tour.***
If you have a situation or a circumstance that you think may prevent you from participating, we ask that you please CALL US TO CLARIFY. In many cases we may be able to accommodate guests with special needs via a private tour where we can take greater care to ensure a safe and pleasurable environment for those involved.

Glad you asked! It’s kind of like it sounds, minus the crystal part. Basically, it is a 100% transparent kayak made from high quality 6mm thick virgin Spanish imported GE Lexan.

Once the sun dips below the surface you’ll have the opportunity to light up your kayak with our full color spectrum RGBW underwater lights! Once you turn your lights on the entire underwater world around you will glow in whatever color you choose making for a vibrant and magical experience!
-
Fluorescent night snorkeling is a unique underwater experience where you snorkel at night using special lights that make sea creatures glow. Unlike regular snorkeling, you use blue or UV lights and a yellow filter to see the natural glow of different sea animals. Corals, fish, and other marine creatures shine in bright neon colors like green, pink, and blue. It looks amazing and feels like stepping into an Avatar movie.
-
Kayaking at night is very safe as long as you have proper lighting, safety equipment, and only paddle in good conditions! In some cases, paddling at night is even safer. During the day, there are a lot of jet skis, boats, and other marine traffic, which can make it a little nerve-wracking. At night, it is quiet and a much more peaceful experience. The same goes for snorkeling. Snorkeling at night is very safe, and in some cases, even more so!

Please allow 4-5 hours for each tour.

Just yourself, a bathing suit, and your good vibes, let us handle the rest!

We are sorry but we have a no sunscreen and no bug spray policy on our tour for two reasons:
-Some of the chemicals in these products will melt the surface of the kayak and will incur a service charge of $150 for refinishing the inside surface.
-Many of these products are known to harm our coral reefs and marine ecosystems.
…but there is some good news! Our tour takes place after the sun starts to go down so sunscreen is not needed. We also don’t typically find bugs to be an issue in the areas where the tour operates so you won’t need to soak your body in chemicals while paddling with us!
-
This is a wet tour, so you’ll want to arrive wearing your swimwear.
-
The short answer is, yes you can! We provide waterproof pouches that should keep your phone safe for the duration of the tour. Just a few things to keep in mind if you decide to bring it:
-We require phones to be on airplane mode for the duration of the tour but feel free to take as many photos and videos as you like!
-While we take care to make sure our waterproof cases keep your phone dry, we still recommend you avoid submerging your phone in the unlikely event that the phone case may fail and allow water in during your use.
-The old saying, “Don’t bring anything on a boat that you're not prepared to lose…” holds true. Blue Odyssey is not responsible for the loss or damage of any of your personal belongings including your phone if you decide to bring them.

Yes, although we provide free pictures with all our tours so you can enjoy a hands-free experience.

We carefully monitor all conditions and in the event of a cancellation we always guarantee rescheduling or a refund. We will not paddle in thunderstorms, high wind, or any weather that is dangerous. We do sometimes paddle in light rain if there is no threat of lightning. Our policy if a thunderstorm threatens is we "wait it out" and see if the radar indicates it may pass through or dissipate. The nature of thunderstorms in the summer is that they move fast and generally dissipate just after dark as the day cools. Some of our best paddles happen just after a thunderstorm when everything goes calm.
* Keep in mind light rain is not considered a reason for us to cancel and the tour will run. We only cancel for heavy rains, thunderstorms, heavy winds, and rough sea conditions. *

No experience necessary: We welcome first-time snorkelers, our tour is designed for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced snorkelers. Our professional instructors will teach you proper snorkeling techniques and provide you assistance the whole time.
-
Kayaking is pretty easy, so no worries here, remember our tours are for everyone! Each tour will begin with a quick lesson on how to kayak before the tour sets off.
-
If you don’t want to participate in the snorkeling portion that is okay! You can just keep kayaking and turn on your underwater lights early! Just stay with the group and have a good time. Plus, our transparent kayaks are kind of like a giant snorkel mask anyway! You should still see lots of cool marine life!
-
While we do provide snacks and drinks on the tour, we still recommend guests eat a late lunch or an early dinner before arrival due to the time frame when the tour will be operating.
We have our guests arrive at our launch site about 1.5 hours before sunset and the tour typically lasts about 4 to 5 hours. Here is an example of what you can expect for summer vs. winter (please note that these are not your arrival times and are only a general example, specific arrival times will be provided for you based on the day you book):
Summer: guests arrive from around 5:30 and the tour ends between 9:30 and 10:30 pm
Winter: guests arrive around 4:30 and the tour ends between 8:30 and 9:30pm

While the severity of the injury is what will determine your ability to participate as a general rule of thumb we say no if you are injured. Your safety is our number one priority. While we admire your desire to power through and still be adventurous, we will advocate for your safety and you will be denied participating in the tour. No refund will be offered.
No broken legs, arms, dislocated shoulders, sprained ankles, new knees or hips, etc. (This is not an all-inclusive list) You should be in good physical condition to join our tours.
-
Yes! We provide high quality snorkeling gear including masks, snorkels, and fins for our snorkel trips.
All of our guests wear a flotation device.
-
While we do not offer prescription masks specifically tailored for individuals who wear glasses, our masks do accommodate various face shapes and sizes comfortably. We prioritize providing masks with adjustable features and a snug fit. You will be able to wear contact lenses while using our masks, however you will not be able to wear your glasses underneath without the mask leaking.
***It's important to note that our masks are not equipped with prescription lenses. ***
If you plan to snorkel more than once, purchasing a mask with your correct prescription may be worthwhile. You can order one at www.prescriptiondivemasks.com.
